Northwestern State University of Louisiana tops the 2021 list of our schools in Louisiana that are best for non-traditional education students. NSU is a large public school located in the town of Natchitoches. NSU not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #4 on our Best Colleges for Education in Louisiana list.

4,667 of NSU students are exclusively distance learners. 4,592 of NSU students are attending part time. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

University of Louisiana at Lafayette landed the #2 spot in our 2021 best education schools for non-traditional students. UL Lafayette is a fairly large public school located in the medium-sized city of Lafayette. UL Lafayette also made our Best Colleges for Education in Louisiana list, coming in at #3.

The student loan default rate at UL Lafayette is lower than is typical, just 7.5% of students default in three years. There are approximately 4,128 students at UL Lafayette that take at least one class online. About 3,639 of the students at UL Lafayette are attending part time. UL Lafayette does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
