University of Florida tops the 2021 list of our schools in Florida that are best for non-traditional engineering students. UF is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Gainesville. As a testament to the quality of education offered at UF, the school also landed the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering in Florida ranking.

The student loan default rate at UF is lower than is typical, just 1.5% of students default in three years. Approximately 21,513 students take at least one class online at UF. 8,083 of UF students are attending part time. UF does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Our rankings recognize Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Daytona Beach as the #2 school in this year's rankings. Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Daytona Beach. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach has also earned the #2 rank in our Best Colleges for Engineering in Florida ranking.

The school has a low student loan default rate of 4.2%. Approximately 32 students take at least one class online at Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach. There are roughly 480 part time students in attendance at Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Florida Tech is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Melbourne. Florida Tech did well in our major quality rankings, too. University of Miami comes in at #4 in this year's ranking. Located in the small city of Coral Gables, U Miami is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population. USF Tampa did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our Best Colleges for Engineering in Florida list.

Located in the medium-sized city of Tallahassee, Florida State is a public school with a very large student population.
