When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. In 2020-2021, 11,319 people earned their degree in entrepreneurial studies, making the major the 120th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, entrepreneurial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,578 and had an average of $25,632 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 957 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $50,812 and $26,432 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 605 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 13 colleges that offer a degree in entrepreneurial studies. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great entrepreneurial studies programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Arizona State University - Tempe. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s list. ASU - Tempe is a public institution located in Tempe, Arizona. The school has a large population, and it awarded 82 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying entrepreneurship list, ASU - Tempe has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Among the 74,795 students enrolled at Arizona State University - Tempe, 7,566 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 3,828 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,068. Located in Tucson, Arizona, this large public school awarded 64 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s entrepreneurship students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying entrepreneurship list, University of Arizona has also earned the #2 rank in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, University of Arizona supports 45,601 students, and 2,131 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1,478 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,880. During this same period, 31 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Texas Christian University is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Fort Worth, Texas. It awarded 50 bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
TCU also took the #1 spot in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Of the 11,379 students enrolled at TCU, 520 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 405 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $23,096. In addition to receiving other benefits, 343 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, this large public school awarded 51 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s entrepreneurship students in 2020-2021.
OSU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 1,038 of the 24,535 students enrolled at OSU were GI Bill® students, of which 439 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,226. On top of their other funding sources, 39 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

The public school handed out bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees to 76 students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying entrepreneurship list, UNT has also earned the #6 rank in our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Among the 40,953 students enrolled at UNT, 2,038 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,138 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $9,999. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. UNT does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

DBU is located in Dallas, Texas and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 16 bachelors’s entrepreneurship degrees to qualified students.

Saint Edward’s University ranked #8 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Entrepreneurship for a Bachelor’s list. Located in Austin, Texas, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 15 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s entrepreneurship students in 2020-2021.
St. Edward’s University did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #10 on our “Best Entrepreneurial Studies Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.Of the 3,591 students enrolled at St. Edward’s University, 170 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 141 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $28,263.
