General Business/Commerce is the 16th most popular major in the country with 56,042 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general business/commerce graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $43,399 and had an average of $26,389 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 13,506 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,048 and $30,132 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,437 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,328 and $20,384 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for General Business for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 51 colleges that offer a degree in general business/commerce. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general business/commerce programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

American Military University also took the #1 spot in our “Best General Business/Commerce Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, American Military University supports 50,047 students, and 18,040 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 15,422 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
