In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 11,783 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,555 and $24,433 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,573 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,328 and $20,384 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for IT for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 39 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
