In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 11,783 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,555 and $24,433 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,946 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for IT for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 35 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in information technology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great information technology programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
