Electrical Engineering is the 39th most popular major in the country with 28,844 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $74,380 and had an average of $24,114 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 1,305 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $70,011 and $26,020 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 894 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,046 and $29,021 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for EE for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 19 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality electrical engineering programs as well as strong veteran support.
