In 2020-2021, 4,858 people earned their degree in food, nutrition and related services, making the major the 135th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, food, nutrition and related services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,748 and had an average of $24,931 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 510 food, nutrition and related services graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,912 and $26,633 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have one of the most popular food, nutrition and related services programs in the United States.

Out of the 11 schools in the Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Johnson & Wales University - Providence landed the #1 spot on the list. JWU Providence is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Providence, Rhode Island. It awarded 171 ’s nutrition degrees in 2020-2021.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Bridgeport. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region list. Bridgeport, Connecticut is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s nutrition degrees to 86 students in 2020-2021.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Framingham State University. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region list. Located in Framingham, Massachusetts, this small public school handed out 48 degrees to qualified ’s nutrition students in 2020-2021.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 3.8%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Simmons University. The school came in at #5 for the Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region. Simmons University is a medium-sized school located in Boston, Massachusetts that handed out 55 ’s nutrition degrees in 2020-2021.
The impressive undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of 9 to 1 means that students may have more opportunities to work more closely with their professors than they would at other schools. The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.4% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
University of New England did quite well in the 2023 Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region ranking, coming in at #6. UNE is located in Biddeford, Maine and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 31 ’s nutrition degrees to qualified students.
The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 1.8%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

University of Saint Joseph came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region ranking. West Hartford, Connecticut is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s nutrition degrees to 21 students in 2020-2021.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 2.6% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. Since the school has a undergrad student-to-faculty ratio of 7 to 1, those pursuing a degree will have more opportunities to interact with their professors.

University of Rhode Island landed the #8 spot on the 2023 Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region ranking. URI is located in Kingston, Rhode Island and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 7 ’s nutrition degrees to qualified students.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 85%. The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 4.3%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

Northeastern University Professional Advancement Network ranked #9 on this year’s Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region list. Northeastern University Professional Advancement Network is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Boston, Massachusetts. It awarded 3 ’s nutrition degrees in 2020-2021.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 1.5%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.
Harvard University came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Most Well Attended Nutrition Major in the New England Region ranking. Harvard University is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It awarded 1 ’s nutrition degrees in 2020-2021.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 0.9%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%. With a undergrad student-to-faculty ratio of 5 to 1, it’s easy to see that the school is committed to helping their undergraduates succeed.
