When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. At College Factual, we’re committed to helping you make that decision by providing information such as that found in our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Math” ranking.
In 2020-2021, 30,202 people earned their degree in mathematics, making the major the 35th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,168 and had an average of $21,863 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Far Western US region, there were 8,244 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,778 and $18,114 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Math” ranking, we looked at 34 colleges that offer a degree in mathematics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the mathematics program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 25 Best Mathematics Colleges for Veterans in the Far Western US Region
Out of the 34 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Far Western US Region for Math that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Southern California landed the #1 spot on the list. USC is a large school located in Los Angeles, California that handed out 31 ’s math degrees in 2020-2021.
USC did well in our major quality rankings, too.
