In 2019-2020, 4,889 people earned their degree in food, nutrition and related services, making the major the 131st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, food, nutrition and related services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,096 and had an average of $25,351 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 3,040 food, nutrition and related services graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,303 and $24,501 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Nutrition Schools for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 60 colleges that offered a degree in food, nutrition and related services. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality food, nutrition and related services programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the food, nutrition and related services program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
